The Ever-Changing Wilderness

THE IMAGES PRESENTED HERE combine modern photography with historical imagery, merging
the dynamic with the nostalgic to create visual representations of the way a landscape evolves over time.
To create these pictures, Klett and Wolfe located the exact sites from which historical images were taken,
rephotographed them, then assembled both the new and the old into panoramas that speak to the human
desire to document and preserve a place as well as the larger forces that shape it. A
